- A transparent 1 tonne IBC ( Intermediate Bulk Container) will be delivered to your specified location. With the first IBC your company will receive a carton marked ‘Starter Pack’ which contains spray bottles for our D-FOAM anti-foaming agent, together with a 1 litre pack of D-FOAM and van stickers. This anti-foaming agent is used to ensure that the IBC can be filled to capacity without deep levels of foam. (see No 2). The Starter Pack also includes two drum taps and two 25 litre drums to assist in transferring foam from drums to the Foamclean IBC, these can be carried on the servicing vans.
- Only discharge synthetic foam solution into the IBC and ensure that it is full to its 1 tonne capacity before arranging collection. (See note at the bottom of this page for permitted products) The IBC is transparent and marked for this purpose. Fill directly from the extinguisher aiming the nozzle into the top opening. The IBC will hold the equivalent of approximately 167 x 6 litre extinguishers. The time to use the D-FOAM spray bottle is when the foam level is high during the last 60 litres or ten extinguishers, simply spray the diluted D-FOAM onto the foaming surface and it will dissipate.
- The 25 litre drums are supplied to allow the servicing engineer to safely discharge foam from extinguishers at your client’s site. Before discharge of the extinguisher, spray the D-FOAM into the bottom of the drum this will help to knock down the foaming. The drum will only support 3 x 6 litre or 2 9 litre discharges. Use as much D-FOAM solution as is required as some AFFF foams differently because of the nozzle.
- When the IBC contains 1 tonne of AFFF solution call the Foamclean Limited office, on 01536 201128 to arrange exchange of the IBC. We will collect the full IBC and deliver an empty IBC to allow you to continue your operation. We could also send a gulper from our partner company MAK, to gulp the solution from the IBC, leaving the empty one on site for further use.
- The foam solution will be taken to our partners waste disposal site and will be treated and disposed of within the parameters of their process licence.
- Once the foams disposal has been confirmed by the waste disposal site, we will send to you a ‘Foam Disposal Notification’ form confirming the completion of the disposal.
Note: Products that can be discharged into IBC:- AFFF solution, Water additive solution, Class F solution such as ‘FATSEAL’.
