What is Foamclean?

A process designed to deal with waste foams from extinguishers and fire systems

Foamclean Limited provide you with a service to safely deal with the disposal of the AFFF foams discharged from the extinguishers during servicing.

Companies using this service will be listed as “Initiative Partners” on the Foamclean website. As an “Initiative Partner” your company is making a commitment to deal with your extinguisher foam waste in a safe and proper manner.

Our website www.foamclean.co.uk explains clearly the importance of dealing with waste foam and the impact fluorinated products such as fire fighting foams can have on our water systems. It details the legal requirements to prevent pollution of groundwater.

The cost of the service is as follows:- An initial deposit of £250.00 is made for the delivery of the Foamclean IBC which includes the “Starter Pack”. The AFFF foam in the IBC is processed with the help of our partners MAK, at a current cost of £0.42 per litre. This equates to £420.00 per IBC. Please note, it is the customers responsibility to ensure the IBC is filled to the 1 Tonne Capacity mark. The charge of £420.00 will apply even if the IBC is not filled to this mark. Filling over the capacity mark is charged at £0.42 per litre.

The £0.42 per litre rate applies on condition that the IBC contains AFFF foam only. In the event that the foam is found to contain protein foams, or other contaminants, the processing fee will be £0.95 per litre for the total contents of the IBC.

 

 

The weight of the foam liquid is based on 1 litre = 1 Kilo. Delivery and collection of the IBC is calculated into the cost.

£100.00 is refundable from the deposit in the unlikely event of a customer wishing to end the service following return of the IBC.

Smaller extinguisher servicing companies may not have the space or facility to hold an IBC. Foamclean Limited would encourage all of our customers retaining an IBC to market this service to the smaller extinguisher servicing operators in their area, urging them to discharge their extinguishers into this IBC. This facility can then be charged at a nominal rate by the Foamclean customer. It is important that any business discharging foam extinguishers has access to this type of service.
